Fortuneo-Oscaro 2017 Team Profile





The Fortuneo-Oscaro cycling team once again features as one of the strongest all around UCI Pro Continental teams, and has developed a solid group of young talent and experienced veterans to continue their global success in professional cycling.

Fortuneo Banque, a French investment management firm, is in its second year as title sponsor of the team, while Oscaro, a French automotive parts e-commerce company, began its title sponsorship of the team on July 1st after holding smaller sponsorship for the team prior to July.

Outfitting the Fortuneo-Oscaro team in their green, white, and black kits is the French sportswear company Noret. The bikes ridden by Fortuneo-Oscaro riders are designed and fully equipped by French manufacturer Look.

The Fortuneo-Oscaro team is having another solid year thus far, and currently sit in 6th place in the UCI Europe Tour standings with 2073.75 UCI points.

The veteran rider Laurent Pichon put in a great spring, winning both the Route Adelie de Vitre and the Classic Loire Atlantique along with a 7th place finish at Paris-Camembert. In addition to his success at the one-day races, Pichon took an impressive 10th place overall, and less than 2 minutes back of overall winner Clement Venturini of the Cofidis team, at 4 Days of Dunkirk in May. 2017 marks the first year Pichon is riding for the Fortuneo-Oscaro squad after spending the last four seasons with French World Tour team FDJ, and is making his first appearance at the Tour de France this year. The 104th Tour de France is Pinchon's fifth Grand Tour appearance, having appeared in two Giro d'Italias and two Vuelta a Espanas, while wearing the mountains classification jersey at the 2016 Vuelta a Espana for a stage.

The young British rider Daniel McLay has emerged as one of the Fortuneo-Oscaro team's most integral riders. McLay is in his third year with Fortuneo-Oscaro, and has spent his entire professional career with the French team, quickly become a top rider on the team. McLay found solid results at the one-day Spring Classics, putting up respectable finishes of 31st at Paris-Tours, 34th at Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne, and 36th at the Primus Classic, while finishing in 1st at the Trofeo Palma. After being selected for the Fortuneo-Oscaro squad at the 2017 Tour de France, McLay held his own in the sprints by taking four top-ten finishes in the first 11 stages. McLay looks to be on an upward trajectory, and will likely continue to be a key contributor to the Fortuneo-Oscaro team in the coming years.

Maxime Bouet is another experienced veteran for the Fortuneo-Oscaro squad who has continued to be integral to the team's success. Bouet has put in solid showings at major stage races, finishing 16th overall at the Skoda Tour of Luxembourg and 39th overall at the Baloise Belgium Tour. At the one-day races in the Spring, the Frenchman finished 2nd at the Grand Prix Cycliste la Marseillaise, while also putting up a solid 14th place effort at Trofeo Laigueglia. Bouet has also been an important general classification rider for Fortuneo-Oscaro's 2017 Tour de France squad, working for the team in the peloton and putting in four top-fifty finishes.
