The Navarra, Spain-based Caja Rural-Seguros RGA team is once again having a strong year in its eighth season in the professional peloton after being formed in 2010.
Grupo Caja Rural, a Spanish bank and agricultural creditor, has sponsored the team since its inception in 2010, and was joined in 2013 by co-title sponsor Seguros RGA, an insurance company based in Madrid.
Caja Rural-Seguros RGA also has sponsorships in place with companies such as newspaper Diario de Navarra, Oval Concept wheels, Zipvit sports nutrition, bed4u.com hotels, and Spiuk footwear.
The Caja Rural-Seguros RGA team is outfitted in green, black, and white kits made by Italian sportswear manufacturer Nalini. The team rides Fuji bikes made with SRAM components.
Sitting in a respectable 16th place in the UCI Europe Tour standings thus far, Caja Rural-Seguros RGA has 1187 UCI points currently and has put up solid results. The Spanish team will be looking to put in some breakthrough performances in their home country as well at the Vuelta a Espana in August.
Young Spanish rider Jaime Roson Garcia has quickly become an integral asset to the Caja Rural-Seguros RGA team, as the 24-year-old has put in a string of strong results in 2017 thus far. In February, Garcia finished a solid 15th overall at a competitive Volta ao Algarve. Garcia had an even more impressive April, as the Spaniard finished 12th overall at the Gran Premio Miguel Indurain before taking second overall at the Tour of Croatia behind famed Italian Rider Vincenzo Nibali. At only 24 years of age, Jaime Roson Garcia will surely continue to improve and impress on the roads of professional cycling.
Veteran rider Sergio Pardilla Bellon has been an important leader for Caja Rural-Seguros RGA and put in a great Spring for the Spanish team as well. Pardilla Bellon had a great showing last September at Milano-Torino, finishing 11th, while also taking home 23rd place at the Giro dell Emilia and 36th place at Tre Valli Varesine. Earlier this year in April, Pardilla Bellon finished 13th overall at the Tour of the Alps, and followed that up with a 14th place overall showing at the Vuelta a Castilla y Leon and a 19th place effort at the Route du Sud. Pardilla Bellon is a veteran leader of the generally youthful Caja Rural-Seguros RGA team, and has provided a spark for the Spanish squad through his strong results and personal influence.
Dylan Page has provided the Caja Rural-Seguros RGA team with an impressive Classics, achieving strong results in major races in professional cycling. The Swiss rider finished 14th at the Trofeo Palma in January, followed by an 18th place finish at the Clasica de Almeria and an impressive 6th place showing at the Vuelta Ciclista a La Rioja. While Page is still improving his abilities and growing into his role in stage races, the young Swiss rider has not been afraid to make big moves on stages, finishing 9th in the points classification at the Volta ao Alentejo and 13th in the points standings at the Tour of Croatia.
Caja Rural-Seguros RGA has listed Jaime Roson Garcia for their start list at this year's 72nd edition of the Vuelta a Espana.
