Noah Hobbs Takes Final Stage of 2024 Tour Alsace as Joris Delbove Wins General Classification

On Stage 5, the final stage of the 2024 Tour Alsace, the peloton began in the picturesque medieval town of Ribeauvillé. The stage would feature a flat profile with no significant climbs over 176 kilometers, which would be fast and without major difficulty, ideal for sprinters. The course would also contain four intermediate sprints. The finish would be a circuit around Sélestat to be repeated six times, guaranteeing a continuous spectacle when crossing the finish line.

After 3 hours and 2 minutes of racing, a final sprint would decide the winner on the day. Positioned in front in the final 100 meters, Noah Hobbs (Groupama-FDJ Continental) was able to hold off the pack and make the final push to victory to capture victory on the day in Sélestat. Liam Walsh (Bridgelane) finished second on the day, followed by Tim Teutenberg (Germany Under-23 National Team) in third, and Matys Grisel (Lotto-Dstny Development) in fourth. For his efforts, Noah Hobbs would also capture the Green Jersey in the end as winner of the points classification.

The winner of the general classification of this year's Tour Alsace 2024 would be Joris Delbove (St. Michel–Mavic–Auber93), with Colby Simmons (Jumbo-Visma Development) finishing second and winner of Stage 3 Jørgen Nordhagen (Visma–Lease a Bike Development) in third place in the General Classification. This was a major milestone for Delbove, marking the peak result of his young career, and builds upon his eighth-place finish in the Paris-Camembert race earlier in the season.
