Trek-Segafredo Team Announces New Partner for 2018



The Trek-Segafredo cycling team has announced that they will be partnering with technology company Garmin in 2018.

The United States-based Trek-Segafredo team released the news via twitter on Friday, January 19th, and stated that they will now be using Garmin GPS cycling computers for training and racing in 2018.

In addition to using Garmin GPS computers, Trek-Segafredo will be using Shimano power meters to track key measurements and outputs from their team.

Trek-Segafredo is currently one of 19 teams competing at the Santos Tour Down Under, which marks the first major stage race on the WorldTour circuit.

Ruben Guerreiro is Trek-Segafredo's top overall rider currently, sitting in 18th place in the General Classification standings after Stage 4. 23-year-old Niklas Eg is sitting 10th in the Best Young Rider competition thus far.

The Trek-Segafredo team will be in action for the final two stages of the Tour Down Under, while fielding a six-rider squad for the 36th Vuelta a San Juan Internacional, which takes place Jaunary 21-28.
