Aqua Blue Sport Announced 7-Man Squad for Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race



The second-year Pro-Continental team out of Ireland, Aqua Blue Sport, has officially announced the seven riders the team will take to the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race.

The one-day Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race will set off on Sunday, January 28th from Geelong on the southern coast of Victoria, Australia.

Aqua Blue Sport will be taking three Australian riders to the race, comprised of Aaron Gate, Calvin Watson, and Shane Archbold, a one-day specialist and sprinter who joins the team after a stint with Bora-Hansgrohe on the WorldTour.

The team will also be made up of Calvin Pedersen, a young rider who has shown his prowess in time trials, Peter Koning, Lasse Norman Hansen, and American rider Larry Warbasse, who is coming into the 2018 off of a strong 2017 season where he captured the United States Road Race National Championship title and 8th overall at the Tour of Norway.

The 2018 course will cover 164 kilometers, starting in Geelong and going south along the coast through Barwon Heads and Torquay before looping back into Geelong.

This year's race marks the fourth edition of the one-day event.
