After Romain Bardet's outstanding performance in the 2016 Tour de France, finishing 2nd overall in the general classification, AG2R will look to help Bardet into the Maillot Jaune at the end of the Tour. AG2R has disclosed 6 of their 9 riders for the Tour de France, which include Bardet, Axel Domont, Mathias Frank, Pierre Latour, Oliver Naesen, Alexis Vuillermoz. Oliver Naesen has had a strong showing in the classics in 2017, finishing 3rd at E3 Harelbeke, 6th at Dwars door Vlaanderen, and 7th at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. Naesen also recently won the 2017 Belgian National Road Race. Pierre Latour has also captured a national title, winning the French National Time Trial. Mathias Frank and Alexis Vuillermoz will be the most experienced Tour de France riders on the squad, with both riders having ridden in four previous TDFs. Additionally, Mathias Frank finished 8th in the general classification and Alexis Vuillermoz captured a stage win in 2015.
